Keith Teboul about fights at Ho’okipa

Keith Teboul (US-60) wrote to tell us that the rumors of arrests after fights over waves at Ho'okipa were not true. Sure, things get a bit tense at the beginning of the season before everyone has got a few waves but it has definitely cooled down now says Keith. Apart from setting rumors straight Keith keeps busy finishing up the Quatro Line for 2008 as well as planning a new trip for next year to a completely new destination that should raise a few eyebrows. Apart from that you'll find Keith down at the Ho ripping the peak whenever there's waves on the north shore.

Photo shoot with simmer crew at Ho’okipa

Simmer Style distributor on Maui Keith Holland let's us in on his thoughts after a recent photo shoot with the local Simmer crew at Ho'okipa:

"Hey all!
Just wanted to say thank you to all that made the shoot yesterday. Word on the street is there were about 40-50 sailors at the ho, 20 on Simmer sails, that's a pretty strong showing. And, for me, I can't remember the last time I had such a good time sailing.... it was great for me to be able to sail with all of you, as a 'team'.... Usually when I sail, I show up, go sail, go home, there are lots of people out sailing, but I often feel like I am sailing by myself, whereas yesterday, I got to sail as part of a supper strong group of men and women with a common goal. Also, you should know how clear it was yesterday how much you represent the brand... Simmer's 'image' is a direct reflection of you, we make Simmer happen. Guarantee we made an impression on some people yesterday due to strength and number of men and women we have chargin

Simmer signs on Edvan Souza

We'd like to welcome Edvan Souza to our international team. This 20-year-old ripper from Jericoacoara, Brazil has an impressive bag of tricks, with the Triple Spock and Cha-Cho into E-Slider as his trademark moves. Although freestyle is his favorite discipline he is an impressive wave sailor, busting out innovative moves with an effortless style. According to fellow team rider Emma Johansson (S-37, Simmer Style / Mistral);

"Edvan is always on the water, with a large smile practicing all the latest moves. He is a natural talent and has a fearless approach to windsurfing; he goes harder and jumps higher than most professional sailors in Jericoacoara. During my first year in Brazil, Edvan had no equipment of his own; he had to borrow boards and sails from the local windsurfing center and from friendly tourists. A real Cinderella story" , Emma adds.

After finishing 2nd in the Brazilian Championships this season, Edvan
plans to compete in the EFPT and PWA next year. Edvan says: "I

Flykatcher update

Kai "Flykatcher" Katchadourian (US-33) is back on Maui after a foot injury and as always his timing is in-peck able as a heavy NNW swell rocked the north shore a while ago, after a quite slow season start. With all the local Simmer Style boys present there was not a dull moment in the line up. From now on planning the 2008 season, testing boards and sails is high priority for "Katcher".

Matteo wins both AICW and AIWS freestyle tours 200

Matteo Guazzoni (I-711) didn't settle for less than 2 national freestyle titles this year, if you have 2 tours running simultaneously you can actually win 2 titles in one season, which is exactly what Matteo did when he won both the AICW and the AIWS freestyle tours in 2007.
