Flykatcher and Victor scores in Cabo Verde
A few words from Simmer Style´s team captain "Flykatcher" down in Cabo Verde.
Early February things suddenly went to alert status in the Atlantic.
Kai (US-33) quickly hopped on the flight from Helsinki to Sal Island to meet up with Victor (E-42) and shred some classic Pt. Preta.
"It was great to see Victor had the same idea. We scored it really good !
Victor and I took turns snapping in the pocket and blasting sections, and of course a few times on the rocks each, minimal damage luckily. Thats part of the game.
There were waves reeling in from the furthest peak outside all the way down to the shorebreak. The various sections were running thru at top speed and not a drop out of place.
Nice to get dialed in with everything and get a big piece!"

The spot only allowed short runs so was still winding up and had to slow down!!
Then de-rigged drove around to Eastern beach for a full on Slalom session again on the X Type II...

Next time out with a bit more tuning and better conditions will be even faster...

Maui Magic
According to Rudy Castorina the last ten days on Maui has been magic, or how about several days of uncrowded, mast high, 4,7 Hookipa including an evening session with fellow Simmer riders Francisco Porcella, Frederick Steineck and Kai "Flykatcher" Katchadourian with perfect peeling mast high sets and noone else out? After that a 2-day double-overhead Tow-in session took place that also included some swimming due to a mechanical problem with the jet ski. After that the wind got lighter but the swell picked up so Rudy and Porcella took on one of Maui´s outer reefs that held some double mast sets in 5,0 winds and scored a few bombs before the wind dropped completely only to give way for a 3 day overhead glassy surf session. Sounds quite good doesn´t it?
