Video: Jason Polakow 2011 – Cloudbreak

It’s a little bit light on windsurfing action (You’ve got to wait till about the 4:30 mark) but Jason Polakow’s new video from Tahiti is ab-so-lutely RIDICULOUS. We can only wonder what it feels like to take a tumble in the washing machine at Cloudbreak in close proximity to a windsurfing rig. We’re going to with “not good.”

Overall Tour Points

There has been some question regarding whether or not there will be a throw away score for the overall tour points. As stated at the beginning of the tour 4 out 5 events will be scored to find an overall winner. Unfortunately the Hatteras Wave Jam had to be cancelled due to Hurricane Irene, so only 4 events will be run this year. In order to stay consistent, we plan to stick with 4 events counting. There will be no throw away this year.

Jason Polakow goes wild in Cloudbreak

Jason Polakow: testing the limits of windsurfing

Jason Polakow keeps pushing the extreme frontiers of windsurfing. This time, the fearless watermam decided to check out for himself the quality of the world's most dangerous surf spots.

The Australian started his swell check by surfing an insane day at Teahupoo, in Tahiti. Despite being known for his windsurfing skills, Polakow rode waves like a true surf pro.

Then, it was time to get the sail out in the water. Showtime for Jason. The windsurfer headed to Fiji in search of the famous Cloudbreak. "I was not expecting to get any wind but on the peak of the swell the wind hit and I was able to sail all afternoon in 12-to-15 foot surf", he explains.
