Conditions looked like a lot of fun at the recent American Windsurfing Tour’s Pistol River Wave Bash. In the end, Levi Siver held it down with the top spot.

Another tidbit worth mentioning is that the rankings show 3 out of the top 4 in the AWT rankings are Quatro riders: Levi Siver, Marcilio Browne and Bernd Roediger.

The story so far

Pierre joined our team in 2010 and has been sailing his 5 Oceans sails since then. It's always a pleasure to get an email from Pierre - his enthusiasm and joy in his sailing is there for all  to see and it's infectious! We get a lot of requests to join our team from a lot of different riders  but it is the enthusiasm to be on the water that makes our decision who to go with- Pierre has bucket loads!

From Pierre
"I'm sailing with the sails 5Océans since November 2010. I had many brands of sails in the hands since I started in windsurfing, and I discovered with Matthew a totally different concept: no gimmicks, a desire to offer a sail as efficient as possible, as light as possible, without sacrificing strength. Not to mention the unique look, these sails are eyes catching!  My favorite sail is the 4batten, it’s for me the perfect wave sail,  ultra light weight, balanced, responsive and on / off, you can always cut or boost the power when it needs to make a good move!

In windsurfing, I always loved jumping and surfing. I need a sail that allows me to accelerate quickly, but still very neutral to surf. In jumping these times I'm focusing a lot on the backloop, this is my favorite jump, while control, you fly is throughout the jump, and it’s so beautiful and so difficult to land! In surfing, I love the curves, but I have a little tendency to hit the lip to go on an aérial, or 360 and goiter, which I hope soon to land before the wave. I sail all the year in Normandy on reef breaks. We have less swell than in Cornwall but we have often side shore conditions with good waves.

This adventure is also a beautiful human encounter:  Matthew and his lovely family I had the good fortune to spend some time with in Britanie and this motivates me even more to represent 5Océans in France"
