JP/NP Young Gun Camp 2012 Prasonisi – Day 5

If you refer to baseball lingo, the Meltemi had its second strike today. The light wind was used for a cool baseball match on the beach in the morning. After lunch the whole crew went on the water to practice some light wind tricks – the Russian Young Guns Kostija and Ivan showed amazing tricks like the gecko cana brava and switch stance geckos. Others were blasting around with slalom boards. The coaches organized a little speed competition in the bay and it was incredible to see, how some light kids were able to handle even 8 m2 sails. Andy Bubble Chambers and world champion Steven van Broeckhoven were out on the water almost the whole afternoon, training with the kids and practicing crazy moves like the Finies'sail throw. It was good to see that even a world champion, who windsurfs like a machine in planing conditions, has to go down the same road of crashing when trying new tricks - he's human after all. In time for the competition tomorrow, the wind is predicted to kick in as usual for a breath taking home-run.
