LA VIDA CON LILY / LIFE WITH LILY!!!!

This post doesnt have anything about windsurfing, and is probably full of classic topics from a new mum! so you are warned in case you want to carry on reading!
Little Lily arrived the past November 3rd, and since then absolutley everything has changed! from the sleepless hours at night, to the way I look at glassy surfing days...
All the topics are true, and although it is true that is sometimes hard, what you feel about this little person makes it more than worth it!
From the very first second when she came out and looked at us, it has been an amazing experience, It has been like entering a new dimension of life.
I could talk for hours about it all, but I dont think it is very interesting for anyone else except us... so, the only thing to say is that life with Lily is wonderful!

PARECE IMPOSIBLE, PERO ECHARE DE MENOS SYLT / IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT I WILL MISS SYLT.

Normally Sylt is pretty miserable: it is pretty cold (except last year when it was tropical!), it is always raining, and when there is "good conditions" you feel more like you want to stay at home than going anywhere!: it is stormy, on-shore winds, massive deadly shore break, heavy rain and even colder... well, you can see it is paradise! But, even with all this, and with the fact that you spend longs hours waiting while they run freestyle and Slalom before Waves, Sylt has something that always makes me have a good time. Maybe it is just the fact that is pretty much the only place I go where I can give good use to my winter clothes! or maybe it is the Nutella crepes, or the sunset evenings, etc... the thing is that it is a bit of a love and hate relationship: you never want to go, but this year that I am not going, I am really going to miss it!

The event starts tomorrow (although tomorrow probably there is no competition, as they will do registration etc..) and apparently there will also be the Live streaming and Live scoring on the PWA site, so we will be able to follow the comp a bit!

PORTADA DE WINDSPORT (CANADA/EEUU)/ COVER OF WINDSPORT!

Holaaaaa....

Saludos!

Hi there!

Time flies and it is nearly middle of September already!! Like always, the wind has nearly stopped completely, and the winter swells havent arrived just yet. To me is better like this! i dont get so jelous! But September here in Las Palmas is nearly the moth with the best weather of the year! we have had some amazingly beautiful days at the beach! which has been super good for long walks on the beach with the big belly!!
We are getting closer and closer to the "big moment"! we cant wait!
In the meantime, I got this little present through Scotty, the cover of Windsport! I am super stocked! Now all I want is to be back on the water as soon as possible after the birth to start "working" again!!!

Take care people!!!

FOTOS/PICS

Hi there!

I put this pictures up already on the FB page... but forgot about the blog... all this technology is starting to be a bit annoying! even though I am supposed to have it all linked and working together! but anyways...

Well, here you have some of the pictures from that last day of SUP I did, where I decided I didnt feel confident enough anymore. They are from Rubén Grimón, a really good young Canariar photographer. I hope you like them!

Hola!!!

LA ULTIMA SESIONS DE SUP QUE HAGO!/ THE LAST SUP SESSION I DO!

Hola....

Hi there... I am still busy with my stuff... hehehe... that is pretty much sitting at the beach watching people surf and sail. I think that together with all the hormones, the body also secretes traquilizers, as I am pretty relax not being able to go on the water to sail or surf.
A couple of weeks ago I went Suping, but I think it is the last time I go. With the massive belly already my balance is a bit messed up so I wasnt felling very confident. But anyways, I am only 2 and a half months away from my due date, and even though they say they are the longest months to pass, I have hope that they will fly!

MOULAY CLINIC, WEEK 1

This year I couldn't make it to the Clinics we do every year in Moulay (very devastated about it.. I love that place!), but John and Tatsy had great conditions (like always) and judging from the video, I think everyone had a really good time. Have a look at the video from the first clinic of the two we make.

THE COMPS: WATCHING FROM THE BEACH.

It has been a bit "strange" to be at the competitions but actually just like an spectator.

Normally, competitions are killers, even if you don't compete on that day, or if you just do one heat, you go back home knackered and wondering why. Now, watching it from outside, I understand: it is so much going on for everyone!!: the whole tension of the comp, preparing your equipment, having the set up ready, re-rig the sails when conditions change, have it all ready to go, bring thing up the beach, down the beach, go and check the notice board, go and re-check to make sure your watch is correct and you are not missing your heat, go sailing a bit to warm up and test the conditions, test the gear, etc... then maybe compete and after tidy up the whole thing: bring the equipment up, de-rig, tidy and leave it organize for tomorrow..it is tiring just writing about it. But how good is the feeling at the end of a comp? (well.. if you do well it helps a bit more). It is always such a rush. Competition can bring the best of you or the worst, I think. Yes, all this is what I was thinking while watching everyone at the comps.
Then it was also so interesting to see how everyone deal so differently with the competition. Normally as I am competing I am just focused on myself, but now that I could see everyone, you can see how each competitor has its own way...so funny and interesting to see how everyone deals with their issues...
It has been great action to watch, from everyone, really... and if I want to be back next year I think I have a lot of work to do to be back on track!!!  I was really glad to see a healthy women fleet competing! God I have some work to do for next year!
Congratulation to all the winners and to everyone that has done so well!

No pictures on this update... will try to get some so you can see how much I've grown!

UPDATE! GETTING BIGGER!

Hi there!!
Wow, it has been a long time since I last updated... oh well...

It is all going well with the pregnancy, so we are super happy! and we keep out fingers crossed it will carry on this way!

Even though I am not sailing and I could have all the time in the world, for some reason it feels like the days are too short! I guess that is a good sign!. I haven't been going down to Pozo to check out the guys much, it is a bit of a punishment to see everyone sailing... but it is all good. Last week we had some spectacular days in here in Las Palmas and it was the perfect weather to go SUPing in front of the house for a bit. It feels so good to be on a board! even if it is just cruising around!

Holaaaa!!!
