Luke is the new Australian rookie on the PWA slalom scene. The last time we saw him was at the Australian Wave Nationals where he took out 1st place in the amateurs beating our Graphic designer into 2nd. Now he's back on the racing scene and fresh from his first PWA event in Korea.

Well I am back home now, and for the last two weeks as there has been no wind I have been organising the logistics with Sean O’brien for the rest of the PWA this year.

NeilPryde Racing Series is continuing its 2013 global tour with the first stopovers in Myanmar, Singapore, Qingdao and Pattaya.

The NeilPryde Windsurfing Racing Series is unique in that it provides a platform for windsurfers of all levels, ages and ability to compete together on a level playing field on the ISAF windsurfing one-design class, the RS:One.

The Myanmar event started with the pre-Sea Games regatta – a big practice run for the 2013 Sea Games to be held in December at Ngwe Saung Beach. The RS:One Class represented the biggest fleet (27 racers) amongst other sailing classes such as the Optimist, 420 and lasers. Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia sent their best racers to battle in the rough Myanmar sea. Thailand was initially dominating but Myanamar’s young racers, who started windsurfing only eight months ago, delivered memorable performances and results.

The next two stops of the Series were Singapore and Qindao, in collaboration to the Extreme Sailing Series™. As Official Windsurfing Supplier to the Extreme Sailing Series™, the NeilPryde Racing Series warmed up the Extreme Sailing Series™ audience in the breathtaking race venues of Marina Bay in Singapore, right in the middle of the city, and in the impressive Qingdao Olympic venue and its nautical stadium.

“Being part of the 2013 TOGR Regatta was a good opportunity for our junior sailors to participate in an international event at home, and to compete with the RS:One one-design ISAF Class. Our youth sailors enjoyed two wonderful days of racing giving them encouragement for the future”, said Prapart Sangngern, a teacher at the Pattaya City 7 School and coach-cum-initiator of the Windsurfing Association of Thailand (WATH) Youth Development Programme.

In June, the NeilPryde Racing Series will fly to Istanbul with the Extreme Sailing Series™ and to Dunkerque for its first 24 hour team relay format race course. This will lead the fleet into the RS:One European Championships to be held in Brest in the first week of July.

i started of my year with the ifca world championship slalom men that was taking place at sylt(germany)

we started racing on the 3rd day at sylt.
i was feeling pretty good on my ifju fins, good speed, good control and on the jibes it was just speechless.
at the first elimination i was sailing pretty strong and managed to get to the winners finale and got 7th place. which i was really happy with.
on the same day they decided to go for a second elimination, i ended up going to the losers final and got 13th place.
i was standing on 8th place overall!
the wind was pretty strong, i was sailing with my 36cm fin and my 7.8 loftsails racing blade and my starboard isonic 97liters.

On the last day of the event we sailed 2 eliminations again.
1st elimination i ended up going to the winners final, which i got 7th place again.
after the third elimination i was standing 6th place overall at the men slalom world championship!! not bad for a 15 year old boy.
On the 2nd elimination i messed up my 1st heat by missing it! that wasn’t so good! but i learned from my mistakes and that’s also good.
on the last day i was sailing on my 42cm fin, 8.6 loftsails racing blade and my 107 isonic starboard.

overall i finished 9th place with the men slalom world championship.

More wind is forecast in Russia for the next two days so it looks like competition should get underway, stay tuned.

Dieter van der Eyken dominates the 2013 Belgian Wave Windsurfing season

Dieter van der Eyken is one step closer of being crowned the 2013 Belgian Wave Windsurfing champion.

Bredene, in the Belgian province of West Flanders, held an intense weekend of wave windsurfing action.

On Friday, all sailors completed the single elimination of the competition, despite the medium size waves and light winds.

Delphine Cousin is shining a light in the 2013 French Windsurfing Championship, with a victory in the second stage, held in Brest.

Despite the difficult conditions - three days of disoriented and gusty winds - sailors were able to complete two races.

The organization worked hard to try to get more races, but even if the windsurfing fleet had spent many hours on the water every day, nothing could be done.

2013 Lithuania Baltic Cup & Formula Windsurfing European Cup

Non Profit organization Ekstreme-sports.lt will organize lithuanian leg of NeilPryde Baltic Cup and Formula Windsurfing European Cup on the 24-26 of May in Svencelė. NeilPryde Baltic Cup is a worldwide ranking event for Formula Windsurfing class. It consists of 3 stages. Every year, last weekend of May Lithuania hosts NeilPryde Baltic Cup, which is most important windsurfing competition in the country. This year competition is even more important – it is recognized as Formula Windsurfing European Cup. Points received during this competition will be included in worldwide ranking for Formula Windsurfing class.

Windsurfers using Raceboard class equipment and kiteboarders in Kiteboard Course Race according to International Kiteboarding Association will be competing as well. This competition will be important for kiteboarders as well. Points they will receive will be included in overall ranking for worldwide classification for kiteboarders.

From the very beginning of competition tension is rising from competitors trying to fight for the good results. Best competitors with big experience and highly ranked in worldwide classification are expected to be in Svencele. This Formula Windsurfing class competition will host big group of windsurfers of highest level. Their titles will be hard to count. Some of them are real professional within this class.

NeilPryde Racing Series is continuing its 2013 global tour with the first stopovers in Myanmar, Singapore, Qingdao and Pattaya.

Finally, the NeilPryde Racing Series joined the 2013 TOGR (Top of the Gulf Regatta) for its second collaboration featuring an international fleet of 29 competitors from Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia and India, racing in stadium regatta configuration with courses close to the shore and audience.
